What is the Future-Ready Scholars Program?
The Future-Ready Scholars Program empowers high school students in Sarasota County to prepare for success in college, career, and life. This program provides comprehensive, tailored coaching to meet students’ diverse needs.
Who is eligible to join the Future-Ready Scholars Program?
The program is open to all high school students in Sarasota County schools with a preference for students in the 11th and 12th grade. This includes students who are first-generation, minority, or are enrolled in the free or reduced-price meals program.
Students navigating disabilities, chronic illness, or significant family hardship are welcome.
What kind of support will I receive from the program?
Participants will receive mentorship, coaching, and attend workshops on a variety of topics related to college, career, and wellbeing. Also, participants will receive support with securing scholarships, touring college campuses, and finding jobs.
Is there a cost to participate in the program?
No, the Future Ready-Scholars Program is free for all participants.
When are the program events held?
Students are expected to participate in monthly workshops and explorations, offered at a variety of times and locations. This may include individual meetings with coaches or mentors, as well as occasional events throughout the school year.
Where will the program events be held?
Program events will be held in the North and South County to accommodate students, and occasionally there will be virtual events.
What are the next steps after I register for the Future-Ready Scholars Program?
After you submit the application, be on the lookout for an email welcoming you to the program. Orientations are scheduled for students and families to attend to learn more about program expectations, meet the team, and learn about the incredible benefits for participants.
