Suncoast Polytechnical High School 2020 STRIVE Recipients
Amy Tran | Amy was behind academically when she transferred from out of state in SPHS in her junior year. She had to work hard in a compressed time frame to catch up and meet her new school’s more rigorous requirements so she could graduate on time with her class. Amy applied herself with determination and consistently earned high grades while also working in a demanding job outside of school and serving the community. She completed 40 hours of community service as a volunteer for school and beach clean-up events while continuing to work many hours a week at an after-school job and on weekends.
Amy positively influenced her peers at school by completing her work, asking insightful questions, and demonstrating curiosity in her classes every day. She is a conscientious, diligent and compassionate student who has exemplified what one can accomplish by working hard to overcome life challenges. Amy has a 3.7 GPA and wants to pursue a degree in game art and have a career as an environmental artist.
