The Marketing Intern is a dynamic and multi-tasking professional who is passionate about providing creative ideas to help achieve our goals in order to support the mission of the Education Foundation of Sarasota County, which is to enhance the potential of students, promote excellence in teaching, and inspire innovation in education guided by strategic philanthropy.

Working under the supervision of the Education Foundation of Sarasota County Chief Marketing Officer, and peer Marketing Coordinator, the Marketing Intern will provide event support, assist with various marketing projects, help design pieces, help increase our social media presence and write and proof copy. The Marketing Intern will uphold the mission, creed, and values of the Education Foundation of Sarasota County and will always represent the Foundation professionally.

Duties and Responsibilities

The Marketing Intern will assist the Marketing Department with:

  • Various marketing projects
  • Various events: (Organization, Set up, etc.)
  • Help increase our social media presence
  • Write and Proof copy
  • Creation and development of various materials for print, web, presentation, and other marketing collateral.
  • Strengthen and extend the company’s brand guidelines and visual “voice
  • Creating, retouching, editing, and manipulating graphic and written elements for multi-departmental use
  • Organization of document and presentation layouts to convey complex ideas
  • Assistance with other design and creative duties as assigned
  • Involvement in social media marketing campaign

  • Provide specialized assistance and information concerning Marketing
  • Coordinate and promote workshops/ various events

  • Operate PC’s in a Windows environment using various office software
  • Operate modern office equipment and audio/visual equipment
  • Work with the team on any other duties/activities as assigned

Ideal Candidate

  • A deep, abiding passion for the mission and goals of the Education Foundation of Sarasota County
  • Junior or Senior college student or recent graduate
  • Must be studying Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field
  • High emotional intelligence and ethical standards
  • A high degree of self-motivation, ingenuity, and creativity
  • Open-minded, adaptable, and collaborative
  • Strong ability to cultivate and maintain positive and authentic relationships and work with various constituencies, including faculty, guidance, parents, students, and college admissions officers
  • Solid public speaking skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate program, obtaining a degree in marketing, communications
  • Creative, strategic, and thoughtful approach to assessing and improving current programs
  • High level of competence using technology
