Reporting to the Chief Marketing Officer of the Education Foundation of Sarasota County, the Communications & Content Writer plays a pivotal role in our marketing and communications team as the organization’s storyteller. Responsible for crafting and overseeing various content including, email marketing, podcast strategies, grant writing, website content, and internal communications, the Communications & Content Writer collaborates effectively to ensure timely project delivery. With a positive, professional attitude and a strategic approach, the Communications & Content Writer works closely with the marketing team to advance the Foundation’s mission and brand.

The Communications and Content Writer will uphold the mission of the Education Foundation of Sarasota County, which is to enhance the potential of students, promote excellence in teaching and inspire innovation in education, guided by strategic philanthropy.


    • Create and manage diverse content (e.g., press releases, grant proposals, blog posts, storytelling) aligned with the Education Foundation’s mission and brand, working with program and development staff to identify and develop engaging stories.
    • Lead email marketing and podcast strategies for effective digital communications.
    • Maintain brand consistency by overseeing web content and design, including mobile displays, by working closely with the marketing team to ensure brand identity remains consistent.
    • Manage internal communications, weekly updates, and announcements.
    • Evaluate stakeholder experiences and SEO on the website, measuring key performance indicators.
    • Measure impact for identified key results. Measure and report performance of all marketing campaigns monthly and quarterly.
    • Collaborate with various teams to maximize marketing resources and campaigns.
    • Work collaboratively with marketing team to process marketing requests from start to completion through an effective project management system using tracking software.
    • Work with team on any other duties/activities as assigned.


  • Bachelor’s Degree required from an accredited university (marketing, communications, or public relations degree preferred).
  • Minimum of 5 years’ marketing experience/or related experience with demonstrated success.
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills.
  • Experience with Canva, Constant Contact, and/or related software.
  • Experience leading and managing SEO and email campaigns.
  • Working knowledge of website (WordPress) and marketing analytics tools.
  • Project management experience.
  • Ability to understand and analyze trends.
  • A deep understanding of the wide variety of marketing channels.

This is a full-time exempt, salaried with benefits. Salary range is $55,000-$70,000.
