Description:

The Education Foundation of Sarasota County Scholarship is a one-time, nonrenewable $1,000 scholarship.

  • Must be a 2026 OR recent high school graduate of a Sarasota County public school*
  • Must be enrolled in an accredited 2- or 4-year college, university or vocational/technical school**
  • Must be younger than age 24 as of December 31, 2026
  • Minimum 2.5 unweighted high school OR current college GPA including most recent transcript
  • Demonstrate financial need including FAFSA OR other accepted documentation
  • Complete an online application including essay response
  • Preference given to 2026 high school graduates and previous Education Foundation scholarship/award recipients and program participants
  • If awarded, use scholarship funds for tuition, fees or course-related expenses required to enroll at or attend an eligible postsecondary school
  • If awarded, scholarship funds will be sent directly to the recipient’s postsecondary school
  • If awarded, the recipient agrees to ongoing communication with The Education Foundation of Sarasota County Scholarships Manager regarding program progress/completion and job placement

*Private high school graduates are not eligible. 

**Graduate school students are not eligible.
