Suncoast Music Scholarships
Sarasota Music Club and Artist Series Concerts of Sarasota

Description:

Suncoast Music Scholarships will award up to $10,000 in music education scholarships to 10th through 12th grade music students who reside in Sarasota or Manatee County and qualify through a competition. These awards are offered through Artist Series Concerts of Sarasota and a gift from the former Sarasota Music Club.

AWARDS
Awards for 10th and 11th grade students are to be used for expenses related to the study of music, such as paying for private lessons, instrument purchase or repairs, music camps, etc.

-10th grade awards: 1st place – $600; 2nd place – $400
-11th grade awards: 1st place – $1,000; 2nd place – $500

Awards for 12th grade students are to be used for music education purposes, ideally as tuition for a music program at a college or university, or for other music education expenses as listed above.

-1st place – $3,000; 2nd place – $2,500; 3rd place – $2,000

APPLICATIONS

Applications must be received by 5 p.m. on Friday, April 12, 2024. Your paper application must be received by deadline.

AUDITION

Auditions will be held on Saturday, April 20, at First Presbyterian Church, 2050 Oak St., Sarasota 34237. Applicants are required to perform a minimum of two pieces of music which must be of contrasting styles and from different periods. Performance time must total no less than 4 minutes and no longer than 10 minutes. Judging will be based on Technique, Musicality and Presentation.
