Graduating high school seniors primarily interested in studying botany and related disciplines in college are eligible to apply.
Two scholarships are available:
1) The Phyllis Turner Environmental Scholarship – $750
2) The Succulent Society Scholarship – $750
Applicants should submit one single application without regard to a specific scholarship. The Society will match each winning applicant with one or more of the scholarships offered.
Requirements:
Applicants must answer four questions (no more than 400 words each):
- What are your college and career goals?
- How would this scholarship help you achieve your college and career goals?
- What are your personal and extra-curricular activities in areas related to the field of botany?
- What is the most valuable knowledge and/or experience you’ve gained from work related to botany?
Applicants must also provide two references, a written recommendation from a professor of the school in which they are currently enrolled, and a copy of their most recent transcript.
Completed applications must be submitted to the Sarasota Succulent Society, 1310 38th Street, Sarasota, Florida, 34234-4604, no later than April 10th.
