Description:

The Johnson Scholarship Foundation Scholarship Program is intended to assist children of United Parcel Service (UPS) employees who plan to continue their education in college or vocational school programs.

Eligibility

  • Students who are enrolled or planning to enroll in a full-time course of study at an accredited four-year college or university, community college, state college, or vocational-technical school in Florida. Students may attend a proprietary vocational-technical school as long as the school is accredited.
  • Children of regular full-time UPS employees or permanent part-time employees.
    • The UPS employee must currently reside in Florida and have resided in Florida for the immediately preceding twelve months prior to the application deadline date.
    • The UPS employee must have a minimum of one year employment with the company as of the application deadline date.
    • The UPS employee must be employed by UPS at the time the award is announced.

*Children of UPS retirees and deceased UPS employees who were employed at UPS and met the above stated employee requirements as of the time of retirement or death are also eligible.

Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of:

 

    • Academic record
    • Demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities
    • Work experience
    • A statement of educational and career goals and objectives
    • Unusual personal or family circumstances
    • An online recommendation
