Description: An in-depth, project-based approach to software development (in its terminology, software engineering) with weekly one-on-one mentoring sessions, answers to study-related questions in real-time, and 20 hours of career services for up to 6 months or until hired. Students work side-by-side with a professional software developer building interactive websites and apps, among other projects.
Duration: The full-time, structured immersion program takes 5 months (20 weeks), 50-60 hours per week, Monday-Friday 10 am-5:30 pm. The part-time, self-paced flexible program takes 6 months (26 weeks), 25-30 hours per week.
Cost: The immersion program costs $16,000; the flexible program $7,000. Will waive any deposit for the resource-challenged. There is no deposit if finance the tuition through an income-sharing agreement, which is only available to full-time students. Also, provides a $1500 per month stipend for 5 months ($7500) for full-time students who take an ISA. With an ISA, there are no payments until obtain an in-field job paying at least $40,000 per year, then pay 15% of monthly income for 4 years (for tuition and living stipend) or 3 years (without the living stipend) or until reaching a cap or $40,000, whichever comes first. The tuition multiple is 1.7. Review the ISA requirements. Consider crowdfunding the tuition, deposit, computer, connectivity, living and other expenses, especially for the part-time program. It provides scholarships for women and non-binary individuals.
Admission Requirements: For full-time immersion, must complete a free 4-week, self-paced prep course and pass a technical evaluation. For part-time flexibility, complete an interview to be certain learning preferences and schedule align. Must be at least 18 years old, have a high school diploma or GED, operate a computer proficiently, able to manage time and communicate effectively with others, and accept constructive criticism.
