Description: The bootcamp provides a full-stack software developer (in its terminology, engineer) education. Offers live, interactive online instruction with one-on-one mentorships, pair programming, project-based learning, and job placement support for 3 to 6 months. As a demanding program beyond that of a tech beginner, need to enroll in one of its prep courses.
Duration: The 12-week full-time full-stack software developer Immersive program consists of two parts. The first six weeks cover learning the fundamentals of software development, one programming language, and an introduction to developer tools and technologies. In the final six weeks, students work on individual and group projects. There is also a 9-month (36 weeks) part-time program.
Cost: There is a $2000 deposit that is waived for scholarship students, but very little financial aid exists for full-stack software developer students. The tuition is $17,980. An income-sharing agreement is available with zero payments until employed. Then graduates pay back 1.4 times the tuition at 10% of their monthly income at $60,000 minimum per year, paying no more than 48 monthly installments or sooner if they hit the cap. Review the ISA requirements. Consider crowdfunding to cover the deposit, tuition, and other expenses.
Admission Requirements: Applicants must complete an interview and a technical admissions challenge. After acceptance, the bootcamp requires either a $250, 4-week, full-time, or a 5-week, part-time structured premium prep program with real-time support or a free self-paced program that contains the same content as the premium program but without any support assistance. It also recommends other prep programs. Although the $250 fee for the premium prep program cannot be waived, if an applicant passes the technical admissions challenge, it discounts the tuition by $250. Consider crowdfunding the $250 fee.
Admission Rate: Some 65% of students who complete the premium prep program enter the Immersive program; otherwise, there is a 3% acceptance rate. Successful applicants are passionate, intelligent learners.
Graduation Rate: In the second half of 2019, 77.3% of full-time students graduated on time, 84% graduated within 150% of the program length; 76% of part-time students graduated on time.
Job Outcomes: In the second half of 2019, for full-time students, 71% were employed in-field at a median salary of $85,000 per year 180 days after graduation; for part-time students, 68% were employed in-field 180 days after graduation at a median pay of $70,000 per year. It has a substantial alum base, with 8000 graduates.
