On September 22, the Informa Sarasota office hosted a Walk the World event at Historic Spanish Point. The idea behind Informa’s Walk the World is simple: get out of the office and away from screens and enjoy the company of your colleagues—all while supporting an important cause.
A few members from the Education Foundation team did just that. At 8:00 a.m., after signing in, they joined the Informa team and community volunteers, forming a circle before everyone introduced themselves. Then they set out for a beautiful walk through Historic Spanish Point. They strolled along the bay, through the native butterfly garden, posing with a butterfly statue, and wandered along paths lined with ferns, fruit trees, flowers, and so much more vegetation.
Though a hot, humid September morning, the walk was a great way to spend a Wednesday morning. Participants caught up with old acquaintances, chatting and laughing as they walked. At various locations, all participants regrouped for photographs.
The walk served as a reminder of an essential aspect of life that has been so challenged during the pandemic: connecting with friends and colleagues, unconstrained by computer monitors, out in the natural world, while supporting a larger cause.
We are honored that Informa Sarasota chose to support the Education Foundation. The $3,000 donation will directly support students and teachers at a time when support is so important. Thank you!
