Samantha Haley has come a long way in the last year and has a lot of people she wants to credit.
It’s a relatively short distance from her home in North Port to her dorm room at Florida Gulf Coast University in Fort Myers where she is working on her bachelor’s of science nursing degree.
But Samantha had to summon determination and boldness to diverge from the direct route she formerly had fixed in her mental GPS.
In her previous view, there was one narrow pathway to pursue a nursing degree after graduating from North Port High School (NPHS).
She had it all laid out: Graduate high school, take practical nursing courses at Suncoast Technical College, get a nursing degree at State College of Florida, work at a local hospital, stay home. Continue reading.
