A basic checklist helps to get ready for college

“What do I need to do to get ready for college?  

“What can I do to help my child go to college?”  

These questions are music to my ears as the college-career adviser at LaunchPad4U, the Education Foundation of Sarasota County’s community resource center. 

With October designated as “College Knowledge Month,” we’re reminding families and students that there’s no better time to gather information that prepares seniors to succeed in life after high school graduation.   

While we’re happy to assist students and families at whatever step they are in their preparation, we recommend they start before a student’s senior year to avoid last-minute stress, allow sufficient time to improve test scores, and zero in on a postsecondary pathway that’s the best fit.
