Has there ever been a better time than now to rethink how we fulfill one of our most important responsibilities — that of preparing our youth to navigate the new world they will inhabit?
Each generation inherits this obligation from the one before. The disorder of today, hastened by the coronavirus, has magnified and accelerated this responsibility to rethink and reimagine, such that we are solving today’s problems in uncommon ways rather than, say, trying to fit an old diesel engine into a new hybrid model car.
For some time, we at the Education Foundation of Sarasota County have recognized that we must think about how to build a network of support for students, on whom we depend for the future, to creatively tackle the 21st-century challenges that we are just beginning to grasp. Continue reading.
