Teacher: Balancing fun and study yields classroom innovations

If you were to enter my third-grade classroom, you might be greeted by the sounds of kids laughing, singing science ditties, reciting poems to familiar jingles, strumming improvised tunes or slurping smoothies made from vegetables grown in our classroom hydroponic tower.

What you won’t find is bored students.

Operating on a strict “no boredom allowed” policy, my students and I prove that it’s possible to master rigorous curriculum and still have fun.
