Twelve students from Sarasota County (8 high school and 4 middle school) qualified to participate in the 2017 State Science and Engineering Fair (SSEF) of Florida following wins in the 2017 STEM Summit in partnership with Sarasota County Schools. This is our third year sending students to SSEF, and the first year sending middle school students. The results were a true testament to the amazing work STEM work being taught in our schools. Nine students from Sarasota County took home awards at SSEF which was held March 28-30, 2017 at The Lakeland Center in Lakeland, Florida.

Two of the award recipients, Codi Elliott and Katie Savage from Sarasota High School, will represent Sarasota County at the 2017 Intel International Science Fair in May. Best of luck, Codi and Katie!
