Students embark upon their post-secondary pathway




Thanks to several generous donors, eight Sarasota County received scholarships to help them embark upon their college journey. Congratulations, students! We wish you the best of luck on this new chapter of your lives.

  • Johann Vazquez-Rosas – graduating Sarasota Military Academy senior, accepted to University of Florida

$2,000 awarded to a Pine View Senior enrolling in an accredited art school, college, or university in 2017:

  • Madison Miller – graduating Pine View School senior, accepted to Wellesley College
     

 

Retsy Lauer Visual Art Pre-College Scholarship

$2,000 awarded to a Pine View Sophomore or Junior enrolling in a pre-college fine arts summer program at an accredited art school or college in the summer of 2017:

  • Katie Bonner – just finished junior year at Pine View School, accepted to Ringling College of Art and Design Pre-College Summer Program
     

 

Retsy Lauer Visual Art Renewal Scholarship 

$2,000 scholarship renewal awarded to:

  • Melanie Gasparoni – just completed freshman year, Communications and Design major at Pratt Institute

 

Linda J. Jellison | Craig T. Wedge Student Scholarship

$5,000 scholarship awarded to a Sarasota Military Academy senior pursuing a STEM related major at an accredited college or university in 2017. STEM related fields include engineering (or pre-engineering), computer science, math, one of the physical sciences or another similar technical field:

  • Emily Griffiths – graduating Sarasota Military Academy senior, accepted to University of Florida
